If you took your car to them to have it troubleshot for the starting problem. That is what you authorized them to fix. that is what you should pay for. If you authorized them to change out the injectors, then yes I think that you should pay for it. But if they never actually replaced/removed any injectors, then get them to charge you for the equivalent of what they did.......REPLACING THE INTAKE PLENUM GASKET! The way that I see it, yes you are right, they are trying to fuck you over, but if you told them to replace the injectors....even if they weren't bad.....then nuff said. But since they didn't actually do that, then they shouldn't charge you as such. This is what I would do. And I think that this is a good mutual agreement. They should charge you for a gasket replacement, and reimburse you for the cost of the injectors. And don't tell them that they cost you $100 for all three. At least give them the wholesale cost for the injectors. Since they told you they were bad, and forced you to buy them, and then found that they fucked up, they should pay for that time and money that they wasted of yours. If they won't give you money for the injectors, ask for half a dozen free oil changes or something. Please don't think that I am taking their side or anything. I also think that if there is one thing that you should seriously do for this situation.....YOU NEED TO TALK TO THE SERVICE MANAGER AND EXPLAIN TO HIM THAT HIS MECHANICS NEED MORE TRAINING ON THEIR JOB! That right there is a valid, honest, statement that needs to be made.
